I write music and sound for theatre, film and TV, as a solo artist, and in bands. My work often engages socially progressive themes and involves collaborative making processes. I have scored documentaries about North Korean refugees, Palestinian teenage queer identity, Gaza, rural poverty, Windrush and the Hostile Environment. Commissions have come from the BBC, Channel 4, the Barbican, the Guardian, BFI Doc Society and Vogue, receiving prizes from the Grierson Awards and Tribeca Film Festival.
My work spans many formats, from Instagram opera for the Royal Opera House to sonic theatre adaptations, collaborations with artists such as Turner Prize-winner Jeremy Deller and podcast scores for Novara Media. I have created many family shows for live theatre and have led or assisted in workshops for companies including National Theatre, National Youth Theatre and Good Chance Theatre.I operate my own label, Circle Dance, through which I run a radio show and fundraising party, and which has released two EPs of my solo music under the name Muckers. I am one half of the band Strange Boy, who are soon to release our debut album through Groƫnland Records.
I grew up in Bridport, Dorset, and now live in London.
